I am excited to share with you a cute idea for a Gift Card Purse. When you open the purse flap, the gift card pocket slides up for viewing.  They also make adorable pockets for a little note or an invitation. I brought the pattern and supplies to use for my Make & Take at a private SU Convention Party in Salt Lake City with Donna, Robbie, Amanda, Helen & Sandy.  I have a video to upload in a few days. I was also thrilled to turn it into a backpack for the lil' or big guy in your life.

This purse was made to join the Challenge at Stampin' Celebration Inspiration #68

Backpack with a Yellow Submarine using the Ornament Punch from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

Card stock- 8 1/2" x 11"
Designer Series Paper
Magnetic Disc
Sticky Strip
Liquid Glue
Optional- buttons, punches, stamps

I have fallen in love with bird houses and when Laura Denison Designs from Following the Paper Trail announced she was going to do a series of bird houses with scrapbooks inside, I ordered several of her patterns to make them.  This is her "April Showers" Bird Abode. You can order a pattern directly from her and make your own!  Her videos teach you how to assemble and several book binding methods.

They also make great card boxes or for your personal stationery.  You can sneak a gift inside or some yummy treats.  I have some bird houses on my mantles for spring.

This House and the Scrapbook went to ROBBIE as a gift exchange at our Stampin' Up! Convention.

Adorable Umbrella hangs over the Perch.

The roof opens to conceal a Scrapbook Journal.

Just love the design of this House and Book.
Thank you Laura Denison for sharing your talents with us!

Today's project is a scrapbook journal that I had made to take to Stampin' Up's! Convention for a gift exchange. I loved making it with the DSP Epic Day.  I gave the extra die cuts with the gift so they could continue adding to the pages as they like.   We had a gift exchange and I was thrilled to receive another scrapbook journal from Robbie.  It is awesome to get a gift that you can fill with your favorite pics & memorable notes.  I don't have a step by step instructions to share because I got this awesome idea from a great designer- Laura Denison Designs.  You can visit her blog to find out how to make this also.  I will post the bird house that the journal was tucked in on another day this week.  I hope you stop back to see it also.

OOOOOOOOOOH!  I loved taking the Frosted Finishes Embellishments from the Holiday Mini and making them into a stunning, sparkling, elegant Necklace!  I also added one to a book ring for a keyring charm.  For SU! Convention, we all get the same "Convention Bag" and I went to Walmart and had tags engraved to  personalize mine.

It was fun converting the Wood Mount Stamp Case into a piece of luggage.  You can slip your favorite patterned DSP into the sleeve and turn your plain case into a work of art!

Store your Stamps, Markers, Pearls, Rhinestones, Candy Dots, Crayons, Sponges, Daubers, Reinkers.... and the list can go on and on and on! Add dividers to make a stationary set. Endless Possiblities! Search Wood Mount Stamp Cases for tons of ideas.
This cute little Notebook and Dress UP Framelit Highligher were part of the goodies that went inside the Wood Mount Luggage Case.

Whoo-Whoo wouldn't love this lil guy with a Peppermint Patty inside?  I have been saving those little plastic containers FOREVER- you know, the ones the brads, buttons, trinkets, clips, etc..... come packaged in! I made them into little owl treat purses to take to Stampin' Up!  Convention for 3D gifts. You can stuff them with your favorite lil gift or leave the buttons, brads, clips etc... inside!
I used one of my favorite products- Sticky Rounds to adhere the Owl to the front of the container- they are the PERFECT SIZE 2 1/2" circles.

The first pictures are using Epic Day DSP.

Grab your Crop a dile for the ease of putting holes in the plastic container for the ribbon handle to slip in and tie in place.

These Owls are made with Venetian Romance DSP.

The Ruffle Ribbon fits wonderfully around the lid's outside edge.

SEE.... the candy is gone! time to refill!

I love vintage cards, and enjoy all the steps it takes to take to make it look like a step back in time.  There are so many layers and techniques but don't be intimidated, even a beginner stamper can complete this card- there is nothing difficult about it. I really liked the pop of color using Pool Party in the ribbon, buttons, and using dab of marker on the fussy cut images. I swapped this card at Stampin' Up!'s Convention with a few demo friends. You can find all the products in the Annual Catalog and the Holiday Mini Catalog that goes LIVE Aug. 1, 2013

Stamp Set: Shop Around Jumbo Wheel, Express Yourself- HS
Ink:  Sahara Sand, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Pool Party
Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Vellum
And More:  Baked Brown Sugar Ruffle Ribbon, Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon, Natural Trim, Linen Thread, Very Vintage Buttons, Pool Party Subtles Collection Buttons, Pearls, Rhinestones, Pretty Print Embossing Folder (Holiday Mini Catalog)

Tip:  Rough up the edges before sponging them to add depth to the layers. Sponge in an ink a shade or two darker than the card stock.
Fray the edges of your ribbon and separate your Linen Thread to add texture to your buttons and bows.

Tie some of your buttons in the front and some in the back.

It's a color challenge at Fab Friday and my first time using the stamps from Zoo Babies. I also used the stamp set Sweets for the Sweets to add some balloons .  Here is their challenge:

Tip:  If you are using a darker card base (ex: Basic Gray) add a lighter base color card stock (Whisper White) to the inside.  I don't always decorate the interior of the card but it's such a nice touch.
Stamp Set:  Zoo Babies, Sweets for the Sweet
Ink:  Basic Gray, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise
Card Stock:  Basic Gray, Whisper White
DSP: Naturals Pattern Paper
And MORE:  Chevron Punch (Holiday Mini), Linen Thread, Corner Rounder Punch
Watch next week for cards and projects that I am taking to Stampin' UP!s Convention.
Happy Stampin'

I made these Vintage Butterfly Pins a few years ago for a 3D swap at Convention.  It's Convention time again next week and although SU doesn't have all the exact same embellishments, you can make this with what ever leftover goody stash you have of trinkets and embellishments. Crystal Effects hold all the charms, pearls, rhinestones etc.... in place.  I have worn these for several years now and they really keep their beauty.
Some Supplies:  BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES BIGZ DIE, Antique Brads, Pearls, Rhinestones, Vintage Trinkets, Crystal Effects, Dazzling Diamonds, Window Sheets

I am loving the new Candy Dots that can be converted to Brads!  I use to convert Brads to Candy Dots by using wire cutters to snip the prongs and then adding the Glue Dots.  Stampin' Up! has read my mind and made a product that is really fun and easy to use.  The Train's wheels have the lovely little dots on them.

I have used the Photopolymer Stamp Designer Typeset to stamp with Whisper White Ink on the colored card stock and then punch out with the small Heart Punch.

I love the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper for this playful Train card. It is ready to add to a gift or put a gift card in for a darling baby.

Stamp Set:  Designer Typeset (132956)
Ink: Whisper White
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Night of Navy, Pear Pizazz, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, Basic
Black, Melon Mambo
DSP:  Gingham Garden
Punches: Small Heart, Cupcake- Train Cars &  Clouds, Owl- Wheels, Pennant- Smoke Stack & Engine Grill
And More:  1/8"  Basic Black Ribbon, Silver Glimmer Paper, Candy Dots
