THANKFUL POPPIES

I must tell you about a really fun product... the Thinlit Dies!  But first I have to apologize for my first impressions of them.  I even regretted purchasing them.  I struggled with cutting them out, removing them from the metal die and then adhering them to the card. THEN.... the light bulb moment came through several other demonstrators who were LOVING them.  I was skeptical, but thought... get those babies back out and give them a try!  So today's card is in celebration of using them and being "thankful" to the other demos who shared their tips & tricks!

This card is inspired by the Paper Players Color Challenge #158.



Stamp Set:  Pleasant Poppies
Ink: Black Stazon, Markers- Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pear Pizzazz, Basick Black
Card Stock:  Whisper White, Basic Black
And More: Pearls, Black Sharpie Marker (color pearls), Expresions Thinlits Dies (132171)

Tip 1:  When cutting out the Thinlits- place a piece of wax paper between the card stock and Thinlit. Use a Paper Piercing tool to remove paper.

Tip 2: Stamp the Poppies on a scrap piece of paper and color them in just like on the card base. Cut out flowers and off set them a bit when placing them on the card for added dimension.

Here is another Stamp Set we got at Convention- Tag It.  I used the Blossom Punch  in Daffodil Delight and outlined it with the Paper Piercing tool and Occasions Pack on the Whisper White Cardstock.

SPARKLING SWALLOWTAIL

 

How about some SPARKLE!  The Swallowtail was stamped using Whisper White and dusted with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder then set it with my Heat Tool. Adding a few Rhinestones carry the glitz theme on the sentiment  and the tentacles. I trimmed around the butterfly then trimmed the front of the card to outline the image. With the leftover scraps from the trimmings, I made the labels for the sentiments with my Apothecary Accents. Great use of scraps!

This card is packed with color and excitement! These Stamp Sets- Gorgeous Grunge & Hello, Lovely were received at Convention and it was part of our Make & Take package.

 

We are going to make this at August's Card Class. I will set up my table with stamping stations so we can walk around it and complete it in a whirl!

FISHIN' AROUND

 

I joined the Sketch Challenge Fab Friday23 for today's card. It reminds me of a song from NEMO " just keep swimming".  The Dazzling Details made the Sand Dollar look as valuable as they are, if you find one whole while walking the beach! The Pearls are a fun touch to the treasure chest!
