DR SEUSS PARTY

The challenge theme at THE PAPER PLUNGE  is April Showers.  I have some fun ideas for a party centered on Dr. Seuss!  I can't take credit for the all the ideas cuz the party was done last week by my daughter in law!  Here is the fun day!

The Lorax Sour Cream Treat Containers

There were Thing 1 and Thing 2 and not just a few!
I also saw Horton who hears a WHO!
The Lorax arrived to "speak for the trees".
There were treats galore "oh my, oh me!"

The Cat in the Hat shared a lot about that,
Then Sam I am brought green eggs & ham!

Sally & Ted were at the window to greet,
The buffet was filled with drinks & sweets.

You could color or draw, paint or slide.
Mold with play dough
or take a pose and say HI!

In the  bathroom was one fish or two.
I may have saw a red fish and a blue.

At the end of the day was a bag of fun,
and a hug good bye, enough said, well done!

My daughter in law- Alyssa has a delightful spark for throwing a party for the kids. Her theme was Dr. Seuss. There were around 20 little ones and many parents stayed to enjoy the day (and a beer!).  I didn't get permission to share all the kids pictures so I will stick to posting Addy & Harrison's.

I was tickled to make the Lorax sour cream styled treat container with an orange tootsie pop inside and the green eggs and ham pretzel bites!  Alyssa takes credit for the rest of the spread!  Her artwork and the help of her sister in law with the photo booth area were amazing!

Join us at THE PAPER PLUNGE  for some more April Shower ideas!

LOVE IS KINDNESS GIFT TAG

I've been crocheting dish cloths.  I only know basic crochet stitches, and review how to do them by watching youtube videos! I don't know how to read a pattern, so videos work for me!  After collecting a small stash, I decide to share them, hence the gift tag to go with them!  This one is quick and you can customize it to compliment any gift. Get your Stampin'  Markers or Blender Pens to color in the tulips! Love is Kindness is a single stamp that is available only on a wood block in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

Tip:  I made a double tag and tied them together with a Linen Thread Bow and wrote a note on the inside.

Stamp Set:  Love is Kindness
Ink:  Momento Black, Old Olive & Rich Razzleberry Markers
Card Stock:  Whisper White
And More:  Linen Thread, Angle Tag Topper

METAL FLOWERS

It's a fun challenge at The Paper Plunge!  Add some metal to your project or card!  You probably have some metal buttons or brads or hodgepodge among your stash!  How about using them and adding them to our challenge site?  My sis LOVES to alter altoid tins, maybe she will join us with her designs! HINT HINT!

Pop on over to The Paper Plunge and see what we are up to on a weekly basis!

A few years ago I posted a video to make Garden Stakes with butterflies.  I think you can view that video and see how easy it is to make these flowers.  I colored the Facetted Buttons and Metal Flowers with alcohol markers.  Stampin' Up! does NOT carry them at this time, but you can improvise with your favorite brand or use a permanent marker.

The hanging garden markers can be viewed HERE.

Supplies Used:
(Stampin' Up! in BOLD)

Sheet Metal (roofing sheet metal @ hardware store)
Faucetted Buttons
Wire Stems
Alcohol Markers
Hot Glue Gun
Decorative Dots & Spring Flowers Embossing Folders

LION PARTY FAVORS

It's March and as the saying goes "In like a LION out like a Lamb", or visa versa.  We are starting this month's The Paper Plunge challenge with a LION theme.  As I am posting this, I am looking forward to the evening with Harrison & Addy & dinner with their family.  I will be taking their Lion Party Favor Tootsie Pops for a snack after dinner. I used the stamp set You Brighten My Day from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  It's available with a minimum purchase - $50 US.

The punches used are Scallop Circle Punch & Circle Punches.  Depending on the size of Lion head you want will determine the size of punches to use.  These Lions were made to fit on the miniture Tootsie Pops.

The Lion Paw Print was made with the Sweet Heart Punch and the Cupcake Punch.

Looks like we have a pack of Lions to share!
